Deuce is one of Equine Voices’ “Founding Four,” former Premarin foals, rescued from an out-of-business Premarin farm in 2004.
Deuce was 11 months old when he arrived here with Gulliver, Spanky, and Bella Luna. These four babies were the beginning of the what is now Equine Voices Rescue & Sanctuary.
He is full of bravado, and enjoys his days with the big herd. As an ambassador, Deuce will remain at the sanctuary for the rest of his life.
Deuce loves food, leftovers, anything will do. Deuce will go to any lengths to get to small scraps of leftover hay. He must, after all, focus on his waistline! He is a master escape artist, so we are very vigilant with the gates in the corral.
For a mere $50 a month, you can sponsor Deuce and support his day to day care!
Volunteer Babs Felix: “Food is very important to Deuce. If another horse in a stall at the main barn is being let out into the big herd, Deuce will be right there at the gate hoping to be able to get into that stall to clean up the leftovers. We have to be careful to move him away from the gate before letting the horse out.”
