AMADO, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) – A Southern Arizona nonprofit organization, Equine Voices Rescue & Sanctuary, has completed their $75,000 construction on a new 1,300-square-foot barn at the Jumping Jack ranch in Amado.
Equine Voices Rescue & Sanctuary is dedicated to saving horses and burros from neglect, abuse, and slaughter. The freshly new barn will offer additional space for nearly a dozen rescued horses.
The barn is “MD” style, meaning that it is built in an extremely “horse-safe” way.
Founder and President of Equine Voices, Karen Pomroy said, “It’s heavy duty and made mostly of metal construction, which means this barn is kick-proof, chew-proof and fire-proof.”
Pomroy added, “We still need to raise additional funds to finish the electrical and plumbing and to purchase fans, water buckets, wheel barrows, mucking forks hay bags, chat for the stalls and additional plumbing.”
Equine Voices Rescue & Sanctuary are depending on donations and small grants to pay for the costs.
